The Laredo Police Department Patrol Division is comprised of uniformed officers whose primary role is to calls of assistance and reports of criminal activity. These offices also act as a deterrent to crime, enforce local and state law, identify community needs, provide support and assistance to the community and respond to emergencies.
Considered the backbone of the Department, the Patrol Division is broken up into East and West Commands with each command having their own respective Command Captain. Each command is further broken down into “beats” or patrol areas where officers are assigned as part of their tour of duty. The individualized beats are part of the Community Oriented Policing approach of the Department where officers are able to get to know their community and the community their officers.
